Elias Portnoy, Founder and CEO, grew up in Westchester, New York and holds degrees from Union College, Schenectady, New York and the Graduate School of Business, at the University of Chicago. Mr. Portnoy heads the Portnoy group, a marketing consultancy specializing in Branding, established in New York in 1988, with offices in Orlando, Florida and Los Angeles, California.
Prior to founding the Portnoy group, Mr. Portnoy held marketing and management positions with Ogilvy and Mather Advertising, The Gillette Company, Bristol-Myers/Clairol Inc., and The Hard Rock Cafe International.

He has appeared on more than a dozen television shows, including frequent appearances on "CBS This Morning," CNN's ""Morning News," and CNBC's "Smart Money." Mr. Portnoy provides an annual report on the Christmas shopping season to CNN viewers every year on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Mr. Portnoy has also been a guest on over 75 radio talk-shows around the country, including The Joy Behar "Money in the Morning," KCEO-AM, San Diego; The Peter Mead Show, WBZ-AM, Boston; The JP McCarthy Show, WJR-AM, Detroit; and The Mike Pintek Show, KDKA-AM, Pittsburgh.
Mr. Portnoy is also a nationally-known speaker on Branding and its influence on corporate culture, whose recent engagements have included keynote addresses to The American Marketing Association, The Newspaper Association of America, and Suburban Newspapers of America. |
